Local means local. The rest is labelled.

“Local-first” gets used loosely. Here it has a line: everything on the left works with the network off, and the three things on the right cross it only when you ask — each one marked before it runs.

03Tasks that agree with your notes

Tick it in the note or in Today and it changes in both. Tasks are tracked by identity, not position, so reordering never scrambles what is done.

Common questions

Is the index on my machine or in the cloud?

Full-text search is local and held in memory — it is never written to disk. Search by meaning runs in the cloud today and needs an account.

Are my notes encrypted?

Yes, at rest, with your operating system’s keychain. Sync is not end-to-end encrypted: shared documents use server-managed keys so the recipient’s browser can render them.

Does the agent read my documents without asking?

No. Library search is a tool it uses when a job calls for it, on the passages a step needs. Automations read nothing until they fire.

Can I get my work out?

Your files are on your disk in the formats you saved. Notes export as Markdown or HTML, and every editor exports standard formats.

Is my content used to train models?

LumenQube does not use your content to train a generalized AI model as a product purpose. Content is sent only when you request an AI feature, to the selected processor or eligible fallback needed for that request. A provider’s own data use, retention and permitted security or legal processing depend on the service and our account terms and settings. See Privacy Policy §7.
