Is a vertical cut just a cropped landscape one?
No — and that distinction is built in. The format is set during the Direct phase so the edit is composed for it, and auto_reframe tracks the subject when moving an existing cut to another ratio rather than centre-cropping and hoping.
What does “watching the cut back” mean?
review_video is a real pass over the assembled timeline in the Review phase, looking for the highest-impact problems — holds that run long, a caption that collides with an overlay, a transition that fights the beat — and fixing them before you export. It is the same idea as the proof pass in LumenDesign.
