LumenNotesKnow · Notebooks, links and transcripts

Take the notes. Get the decisions back.

A notebook that records the meeting, turns it into text, and separates what was decided from what was discussed — with owners and dates on every to-do. It is also where the workspace keeps what you know: linked, backlinked, searchable and encrypted on your own machine. See how finding things works →

Free, no card. Every editor is free, with no trial timer — and a free account gets Lumen Core plus a monthly AI allowance.

What it does

A notebook, a recorder and a task list that agree with each other.

The output of a meeting is decisions, owners and dates — not a transcript nobody reads. Everything here exists to get you from one to the other.

Features

Pages, blocks and templates

Notebooks hold pages; pages hold real structure. The same input rules as LumenDocs, so you never have to remember which app you are in.

  • Markdown shortcuts format as you type
  • Curated blocks — agendas, decisions, briefs — stay editable
  • Autosave the moment you write
LumenAgent, inside LumenNotes

A 51-minute call, sorted into who owes what.

A real run, steppable. It reads the page, searches your whole library for the files the call referred to, writes the summary back — then stops and asks before anything leaves your machine.

Connected

The notebook is not a silo.

A note is one document among eleven kinds, in one library, with one agent that can read all of them and hand work to whichever editor should be doing it.

Step oneIt reads across everything

search_library searches every saved document — PDFs, sheets, decks, boards, forms and notebooks — not just the one that is open.

Step twoIt hands work to the right editor

work_on_document passes the job to that document’s own AI, so a spreadsheet is built by the spreadsheet engine rather than guessed at from outside.

Step threeIt writes the findings somewhere durable

create_document spins up a new doc, sheet, PDF, deck or note from what it just made, and opens it in the right editor.

In detail

What LumenNotes actually does.

Notebooks and pages

Structure that survives the meeting.

  • Multiple notebooks, each with its own pages
  • Premium templates to start a page from
  • Curated blocks — agendas, decisions, briefs — export-safe
  • Themes, fonts and widths set per page

Recording and transcription

Audio in, structured text out.

  • Record into the page, with a live transcript as you speak
  • Long recordings chunked and retried if the connection drops
  • Word-level timings kept with the audio
  • Transcription needs Plus or above — the recorder is free

Finding things again

The half of note-taking nobody designs for.

  • Full-text search across every notebook
  • [[Wiki-links]] between pages
  • Indexed into the library, so the agent can search notes too
  • Task roundup — every open to-do in one place
Questions

LumenNotes questions.

Is LumenNotes free?

Yes. Every one of the eleven editors is free with no trial timer and no watermark, and a free account includes Lumen Core plus a monthly AI allowance. Transcription is the one thing on this page that needs a paid plan (Plus and above); recording audio into a page is free.

Where does the audio go when I transcribe it?

Transcribing a saved recording uploads that audio to LumenQube’s managed transcription service and sends back the text plus word timings; long recordings are split into chunks first. The live transcript you see while recording comes from your system’s own speech engine. If you would rather nothing left the machine, record without transcribing — the audio stays in the page.

Can the agent read my other documents?

Only when you ask it to. search_library searches the local index of documents you have opened or saved, and read_library_document reads one of them back. Both run against your own machine’s index. Reaching the open web, connected mailboxes or an MCP server are separate capabilities you control individually.

What does the approval card in the demo actually gate?

Publishing a share link. Each agent capability is set to Auto, Ask or Off, and “Publish share links” stays on Ask even in the most autonomous preset, because it puts one of your real working documents behind a URL. Declining is a real branch: the demo above takes a genuinely different route and ends somewhere else.
